With our state of the art custom built bay boats and seasoned fishing guides it makes sense to let the team at Dream Catcher Charters take you out for a day of backcountry fishing out of Key West.

The waters are clean and calm so there is no chance for seasickness while you fish for several different shallow water species such as trout, tarpon, redfish, pompano, barracudas and jacks.

Backcountry fishing trips can be customized to fit just about any angler’s needs.  From the seasoned angler wanting to stalk a bonefish on the flats to the guy that has never fished in his life and wants to take the family on a fishing outing.

Our fishing boats can accommodate anywhere from one to six anglers to accommodate everyone’s different dreams. While fly fishing gear can be utilized on these trips, the main type of fishing gear that our clients feel comfortable with is light tackle spin fishing and bait casting gear with artificial and live baits.

Our Rates - We offer 4, 6, and 8 hour custom private fishing charters that depart every day. Included are the boat, proper fishing gear, Florida State fishing licenses, bottled waters, ice and a seasoned friendly captain.

What Is Backcountry Fishing – A general term that means fishing between the mangrove islands, flats, bays, and channels located north and west of Key West. The backcountry is considered to always be calm.

Much of this area is protected area so while you are fishing you will also experience seeing all different kinds of wildlife such as exotic birds, manatee, dolphin, rays and turtles in addition to aquatic vegetation such as the different types of mangroves that help to make up the backcountry.
